Ajanta What?

I'm just going to flat out admit right now that my history knowledge is very subpar. I don't know why, because I was a straight A student in school. I feel like a fraud. Apparently I learned the material well enough to pass the exams, and the information fell out the other ear the minute I placed my exam on the teacher's desk.

Anyway, I've been enjoy learning history along with my children. We've been studying early world history this year using the books from the first two volumes of Story of the World and supplementing it with library books and Google searches.

Today we read about monks in India. Did you know there were monks in India? And they lived in the Ajanta Caves? I sure didn't! I had to Google it to see what these caves looked like, and they are amazing. They were intricately carved out of stone and had frescoes, sculptures, and other cool stuff. We looked at pictures of them on my computer.

Just thought I'd let you all know about the Ajanta Caves. Other things we talked about were Buddha and peninsulas. I never knew history could be fun.
